All on 4
Do you have a number of decayed, broken or missing teeth? Perhaps you’ve been advised that the extraction of several teeth is necessary? Perhaps, due to past issues with bone density you have been deemed unsuitable for dental implants. Do you worry that there is no way to restore your ability to eat comfortably and smile with confidence?
Inspired Dentistry are proud to offer our patients the revolutionary All on 4 dental implants – a truly modern and technologically advanced procedure which allows for the full restoration of the upper and / or lower arches of the teeth.
Until now, Dental surgeons have been limited to place implants only where good and healthy bone resides. Unfortunately, this has led to many patients being turned down for implant surgery in the past. With the All on 4 concept this is no longer the case.
With All on 4 we will fit just four titanium implants (the fewest amount possible) with the back implants uniquely angulated to make best use of the existing bone. Because of this we are able to fit your high quality restorations in a much shorter time period and the need for lengthy bone grafting surgeries are avoided all together.
The All on 4 concept was developed in the early 2000s and has been continually researched and developed for best results. Today, the system makes use of cutting edge technology – including 3D computer simulation and bio mechanics.
All on 4 is ideal for anyone who struggles with loose and uncomfortable dentures or who may require a full set of false teeth (top or bottom). Most exciting of all is that it finally offers an option for those patients who have been unable to benefit from dental implants due to past bone recession caused by long-term tooth loss or gum disease.
While other types of dental implant can require bone grafting solutions – which need significant recovery periods – the All on 4 dental implants technique is a much quicker and less-invasive option. You are sure to be delighted with the natural looking results. Our All on 4 implants feel very secure and are very strong – giving them the potential to last for many years.
A brand new smile in the same day…
A temporary set of teeth can be fitted immediately following your implant procedure allowing you to leave the practice on the same day with a brand new set of fully functioning, comfortable and natural looking teeth.
They truly are the perfect option for many people.
What is involved in the All on 4 procedure?
At your first consultation we will fully check your teeth and gums with the use of X-rays, impressions and CAT scans. Referrals for CAT scan if required. A tailored treatment plan will be put together for you and will be explained in detail so that you are aware of what to expect – including costs and recovery time. Once you are happy, your implant surgery will be scheduled.
If you do need a tooth extraction, it may be possible to extract it and fit your implant straight away. This will depend on the tooth being removed and the condition of your gums. In some cases, a few weeks of recovery time will be necessary.
At your fitting appointment the four implants will be placed along with a new set of interim teeth. The procedure will take around 1-2 hours.
You will be invited in for check-ups in the following weeks and months afterwards so that we can assess your recovery and make sure your implants are healing as expected.
It will take around six months for your implants to fully heal and fuse securely with your jawbone. At this point we are able to attach abutments (or connectors) to the implants and fit your final set of replacement teeth. Each one will be made to measure, colour matched and perfectly adjusted for maximum comfort and bite.
Will All on 4 hurt?
The procedure will take place under a local anaesthetic so will be as comfortable as possible. We can perform the surgery using a sedative if you would prefer. It is likely you will experience some discomfort and swelling in the days following your surgery. Standard painkillers should help with this -while a cold compress can help reduce any swelling.
Many people find that any discomfort subsides quickly and they are able to return to normal within just a couple of days.
